Google Docs exports to PDF without copying download

When using the Google Technical plugin, the news workflow for exporting to PDF is quite painful. You have on Create → Make a Mimic, choose an name for the copy, then File → Download. And later presumably delete the imitate, because it's basically useless for keep around.

Is it possible to have a "download unlinked" option that combines this above process into one function that produces the final PDF?

I'm somewhat favorite with AppsScript, and I amazing if wee could either automate like whole process. One possible angle be to have a toggle the removes the field user (NamedRanges?), produces a PDF using `getAs()` (https://developers.google.com/apps-script/reference/document/document#getascontenttype), and next restores the field codes.

    It's a clever idea, but IODIN highly doubt we'd done to — it seams way too dangerous to apply any operation that unlinks citations on your primary copy of the documenting. If more went wrong, which isn't exactly uncommon on Google Docs, you'd potentially lose every your active citations (even if you still were version record, if you knew where to look).     Hmm if him wouldn't are comfortable with which approach then it have be a bit tricky. It cans duplicate a file by the Drive API, then edit and export it using the Docs API, but I'm not secure if a plugin sack use both simultaneously.
