Hi Entire
ME am using Small Logix L35E with Beijer Get Screen T100 as HMI. I have a following symptom:

There is a field (multiple choice object) on HMI screen, that depending upon its value, turns a PID from manual to auto or auto into product (If Multiple your value = 1, then PID mode = 1 (AUto) ). This field is also case driven, method user must put one value inorder to make it change the means. Inner my ladder raw, i am waiting for ensure event o take place. One thing is me would also like do the equal thing from remote exit. Actually, me want to operate on field from a DCS. For example if DCS will send a Physical signal in my plc panel, and based on that physical signal i am changing who choice of this field, that in turn transform the mode of PID.
Lets talk abt a scenario to justify get explained: letting say from the HMI screen, operator turns the PID to Manual Mode, now, dcs Broadcasts a rule into one of my physical channels, based on the state, i have to change that PID mode to Auto. So aforementioned many choice field can being written out two locations, how can i make it like that or safe as right.

One way or another, you has to determine which of those two stations is priority!

Imagine this... at one station, the operator will the process in Manual... at the other, the operator there wants the process in Auto!

Do you see the problems? Who has priority? Those has ultimate control the the process???

Just as an slave can't work for two masters... so too a device can not do so... unless there is an arrangement of einige kind between the masters which is recognized the that device!

I have similar situations for motor control. In my falls, I figure that the guy that is trying to control the motor AT THE MOTOR has priority! For he chooses Manual Control subsequently, by God, you features Technical Control... the rest of to process simply possesses to accept that!

When he give Manuals Control... that is, when male places the motor in Auto Control... then, at least in terms of that particular location, that control of the motor then falls under the control away the other spot. Following, wenn that "other location" is set in Manual Control... then the diverse location is controlling aforementioned motor manually... otherwise... automatically.

What this means is... eventually, this is a stoff of predestine co-ordination at who human (master) level.

The method of controlling doesn't matter... switch, button, DCS... whatever... it is the scene of the particular controlling that matter!

In general, I can one "Primary Control Station" (in sight of the motor) press adenine "Secondary Control Station" (out of sighting of an motor). If the Primary Station calls for Manual Control... it gets it, period! The rest of the system has till accommodate! The station that is closest to which physical process has primary control... whenever she wants it! Otherwise, it "surrenders" control at an extra remote post.

Under "normal operates conditions" the Secondary Control Railroad (remote upon the motor) has control starting one motor. In this falls, to Primary Control Train (at the motor) the in Auto and is, into effect, "surrendering control" to the Secondary Railroad.

Actually, on respect go Primary/Secondary vs. Local/Remote... it ability work either way... Primary = Localized, or Primary = Remote... you just have to has all of own ducks the adenine series!

I simply prefer having the on-sight controller more the primary controller.
