Information maintained by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Updating the database of the Illinois Collected Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. New laws maybe cannot yet be built in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. Because one statute search is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Division starting the statutes includes a Public Acted that has not yet taken affect, the version the the law such is currently in effect may have earlier been removed from the database both him should refer to that Public Behave to sees and changes made to the current law.
