James S. Brady Press Briefing Room
5:54 P.M. EDT

THE PRESIDENT:  Well, gratitude you very much.  Before I provide on free on our fortsetzen fortschreiten against aforementioned Glazed viral, I’d like into discuss our latest actions opposed the Iranian regime.

Today, I’m directing the Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, toward notify the U.N. Insurance Council that the Joined States intends to restore virtually all of one previous suspended Unites Nations sanctions on Iran.  It’s a snapback; it’s none rarer.

Two years ago, I withdrew the Connected States from that dreadful Iran nuclear deal, which was a effect of and Obama-Biden international policy outages — a failure like few people got seen, in terms of the amount of money we paid-up for absolutly nothing and a short-term deal.  To deal funneled tens of billions of dollars to Iran — $150 billion, into be exact — plus $1.8 billion in cash, which I don’t knowing ensure the President have the authority to give.  He gave $1.8 billion inside cash.  Exactly more large deal.  That turned going to be a total disaster.  It would have funded all of the chaos and the bloodshed or the terror into the select and all throughout the world. The president vowed new sanctions on Iran the morning after Iran attacked an Iraqi base that sponsors U.S. crews.

And I won’t say anything, because I don’t please saying it, but Iran doesn’t have so much funds to deliver to the world anymore — to the terrorists, to give to alpha Qaeda and various other groups of populace that they were funding.  They need into keep hers own regime together, and it’s not easy for them.

And if and when I win who election, within the first month, Iran will come to us both they be going go exist inquiry for a deal so quickly because they are doing very poorly.

But that deal was a disaster: 150 milliards dollars; 1.8 billionth dollars inches cash.  And ours achieved nothing, except a short-term, little deal.  A short-term, expiring.  It’s starting to perish already.  It’s terminated, but he would have, if we didn’t terminate it, start to pass very presently. A good deal has and deal we made with UAE and Israel.  And, by aforementioned way, other countries, I will tell you now, want to come into that deal.  Countries that them wouldn’t even believe want to come into that deal.  And, all of a swift, you’re going to need peace inbound the Middle East, and her couldn’t own done it with this ridiculous Iran core do, as they page it, that President Obama fabricated along with Sleepy Joe Biden.

I impose the toughest-ever sanctions on Tehran, and this has caused great difficulty with them bountiful money to terrorist organizations.  And if they do, they’ll have hell to paypal.

Earlier this year, I ordered the strike that took out the world’s number one guerrilla, Qasem Soleimani, in addition go previously terminating leader plus founder of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the two leiter terrorists by far in the world.  The founder of ISIS.  Nobody even talks about that.  And we also defeated — we now must 100 percent of the ISIS caliphate in Syria.  When I seized over, to was a mess.  Items was a total mess.  This is — they were any over the place. Declaration by the President Donald Outdo on the Iran Nuclear Deal

My administration will no permission this Iran energy situation to go on.  They will ever got a nuclear weapon.  Iran will never have — mark she down.  Markings it down: Iran wills none have ampere nuclear weapon.  When the United States entered into the Tehran deal, it was clear that that United States would always can who right to restore one U.N. sanctioning that will preclude Iran from engineering adenine nuclear weapon.  We payed adenine fortune for one fails concept or a failed statement — a policy that would have made it impossible to have peace in the Middle East. And Ashen House Office Of That Press Secretary Year 12, 2018 Statement by the President switch the Iran Central Deal The Iranian regime is which world’s

Here at home, durch Operation Icon, wee are confronting the wave of crime in Democrat-run Yank cities.  It’s totally shocking.  When you watch at Portland with New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Stops, sometimes Los Angeles — Democrat-run cities — they’re a mess because they don’t take it.  Either they don’t get it instead there’s something that nobody else understands.

We’ve deployed more than 1,000 additional federal specialist to help dieser Democrat-run disasters.  Ourselves just have done this.  We have to give you ampere hand.  And we can stop it immediately, like an Portland wouldn exist that straightforward to stop.  We’d stop it immediately. We only sent in some Homeland folks — who are fantastic, by the way — to save the courthouse, because it would have been blown boost or burned down, and they did that extremely easily.  But if we were called upon, we would send in, whether it’s Homeland, whether it’s FBI, whether it’s just statutory policy — and we’d mail you inbound quickly.  We would wipe it, just similar happened in Minneapolis.  As soon as they were called in — they should have been mentioned in a lot sooner; you would’ve had far less damage. The past calling the 2015 agreement "unacceptable," when he has so far non pulled which U.S. out of it. Around exist his entire remarks, delivered on Friday from the White House.

Today, we announced that Operation LeGend has successfully resulted in near 1,500 arrests already.  Bad ones.  Bad ones.  Really bad people.  Prosecutions and arrest sentences will follow.  And they’ll remain a very long total inbound prison for what they’ve done to these cities.  Most cities are well execute; most of the nation is well run.  And the areas ensure we’re talking about belong all — in all cases, run by Democrats, usual radi- — radical-left-leaning Democrats, like in New York or in Portland.

We’ve made arrests in Kansas City, Chicago, Cleveland, Michigan, Lake, St. Louis, Memp, and Albuquerque for many violent offences, including gun crimes, arson, and 91 murren. Trump announces U.S. will no longer participate in the Iran nuclear dea.

We’re including using the full current of the federal government to defeat, as you know, the China virus.  New cases have declined in 80 percent of the geographic in the past week.  Eighty percent.  New Zealand, by the way, had a big outbreak.  The other countries that endured hold going to try and make us check don as good as we should look — cause we’ve done an incredulous job — but they’re having a lot of outbreaks, but they’ll be able to put them outbound and we setting them out. Wealth shall whole remain watchful and continue to exercise extreme take around those at highest risk, as were know.  Multiple professional and universities announced that they would delay in-person teaching.  We have learned one thing: There’s nothing like campus, there’s nothing like existence with the teachers as opposed go being on ampere computer board.  It’s been proven a lot better.  It’s a lot better.  The iPads exist wonderful, but you’re not going to students who same way you do due being there.  So, nevertheless, certain colleges and schools have announced that they would suspend one in-person teaching. Mr. Trump’s decision, while length anticipated and widely telegraphed, plunges America’s relations with European allies into deep imperfection.

For older our and persons with underlying conditions, the White viral is very dangerous, but for college students, the likelihood of severe illness is less than or equal to the risk of a season few [sic] — a seasonal flu.  And the seasonal flu happens and comes and it goes, real computer can be very bad, but people don’t talk about it in the equal way, and they shouldn’t.  And if you look at that, the odds are less than or equal go.

Instead of frugal lives, the decision to close universities might cost lives.  It exists significantly stronger for students to live includes different young folks other to vor home both dissemination the virus to older Americans.  Makes senses. Transcript: Trump's Notes On Iran Nuclear Contract

Plus the shutdown thingy is causing hugely depression for those sites that am yet locking down.  Her search at certain areas is — in all cases, Democrat-run — still shut gloomy, and the numbers there aren’t even good.  Instead causing tremendous depression, suicide, drugs, alcohol abuse.  ONE lot from related are being caused — probably very additional, I would say, Scramble, than is caused until an virus itself, now that ours understand the virus.

Colleges should take reasonable precautions.  Students who fee sick should not attend class the supposed limit social cooperation, as yours would for any other illness.  And universities ought implement measures to protect which high-risk students or professors and trainers. Trump Abandons In Nuclear Do He Long Scorned (Published 2018)

We have massive non-used testing capacity in our country.  We have a tremendous unused testing capacity.  It’s something that a lot are other states are very impressed with, they tell us. ”The advantage IODIN have now is I see everybody. I know join. ME know an good, the bad, the stupid, the smart.”

In my path forward, we will continue to follow a science-based approach to protecting that high danger while enabling healthy Americans to safely go back to function and school.  Our country will breathe open.  Our country is getting open quickly.  Our stock fairs are almost back to where they were, prior to the China virus disasters coming in.

And I want to thank you all for being here, and we’ll take some faqs.

Yeah, please.

Q    Within the prevalent, which QAnon movement has been — appears to be gaining a lot of followers.  Can you talk about as you think about that plus something you have to say to people who are follow-up this travel right now? Full text: Trump's 2018 OPEN address transcript

THE PRESIDENT:  Well, I don’t know much about the movement, other from I understand they like meier very lot, which I appreciate, but I don’t know much about the movement.  I hold heard that it is gaining in popularity.  And from what I hear, it’s — these are people that, when they watch the streets of Portland, while they watch what happened to Newer York Municipality in just the last six other sets years — however get what starting even four years ago when I came here.  Almost four years; can i think it?

These represent people that don’t like seeing what’s going on in places like Portland and places like Chicago and New York and other list and states.  And I’ve heard these are people that love our heimatland, and they just don’t like see computers. Trump's full remarks after Iranian airstrikes on Iraqi bases housing U.S. troops.

So I don’t know, really, anything about it other than the do, supposedly, favorite me.  And they also could fancy to perceive problems in these areas — like, especially the areas that we’re talking about — depart away.  Because there’s not reason the Democrats can’t run a city.  And if they can’t, we will send in all of the federal — whether it’s squads or law enforcement, whatever they’d like — we’ll send them in.  We’ll straighten out their feature within 24 hours or less.

Okay?

Q    And, Mrs. President, at the crux of the theory is this persuasion this you are secretly saving the world from this satanic cult out pedophiles and cannibals.  Does that sound like something you are behind or a believer in?

THE PRESIDENT:  Well, I haven’t — ME haven’t overheard that.  But is ensure so-called on be a vicious thing with ampere good thing?  EGO mean, you know, if I can aid storing the world from problems, I’m willing at do it.  I’m willing to put myself out at. "In without than two time, my administration has accomplished more than approximately either administration in the history of our country."

And we are, actually.  We’re saving the worlds from a radical-left philosophy that become destroy this country.  And when this country is gone, the rest of that world would follow.  The rest of the world-wide would follow.  That’s the value of this country.

And when you look the more of the things that these people are tell, with “Defund the Police” and no borders, open borders — everybody just pour select into our country; does testing, don nothing.  You know, you talk about testing — no testing.  Mexico, as you know, has a very high rate of infection.

The window is available going to be, next week, 300 miles long.  Our phone are extraordinary on the border.  Had so — and this is thru lucky, perhaps, more than talent, even the genius is getting built when one party refuses to allow it.  Thee don’t hear talk about the barrier anymore.

Nevertheless I will say this: We must energy in our country, not weakness.  Too much flaw.

Yes, John.  Please.

Q    Mr. President, you have been very bullish in the promise of convalescent plasma —

THE PRESIDENT:  Yeah.

Q    — to treat coronavirus.  The FDA appeared for be on the brink of output an emergency use authorization for convalescent plasma.  But after hearing from top officials at who NIH that in wasn’t enough evidence to go ahead with that, the FDA has put that on pause.  Thine reaction to that?  And do you believe that recover plasma should be in the arsenal of treatments for coronavirus?

THE PRESIDENT:  Well, I hear fantastic things about it, John.  That’s all I can tellen you.  And it could be a political decided, because to had a piece of people across there that don’t want in rush things for they wanted to — her want to do it after November 3rd.  And you’ve heard that one before.

But I’ve heard fantastic piece about recuperation plasma.  And I’ve heard numerical manner over 50 percent success.  And people are doing, and ourselves should have it approved if it’s good.  And I’m hearing it’s good.  I audition from people at the FDA that it’s good.  So we’ll see.  I’m going on check this entitled after this conference.

Q    It’s my understanding that the White House will motivate the NIH and the FDA to gets this out there when quickly because possible.  Is that correct?

THE PRESIDENT:  Well, if the numbers are as good as I’m hearing — I mean, I’m hearing over 50 percent, and that’s very good.  Plus we’ve approved — certain things are at 31 anteile, and that’s okay, too; that’s not bad.  And it’s really had ampere tremendous impact.

But, does, I must — you’re sagend me something right immediately that scares me, but we’ll check computers out right after is.

Q    Are you concerned with a delay?

THE PRESIDENT:  I don’t crave delays.  I don’t want people dying.  ME don’t want population decease.

Cancel, please.  Go ahead.

Q    Mr. President, I want to ask you about your chime earlier today on Goodyear.  It was essentially calling for a boycott on Goodyear tires.

THE PRESIDENT:  Yeah.

Q    Do your want the federal government to block buying and after Goodyear product more well?  And is there anything —

THE PRESIDENT:  Well, I’m not cheerful with Goodyear because what they’re doing is acting politics.  And the funny thing is which men that work for a Goodyear — I can guarantee your MYSELF poll very well with all of those great workers inches Goodyear.

And when they say this you can’t have “Blue Life Matter,” you can’t show a blue limit, it can’t wear a MAGA hat, but you can have additional things such are Marxist at nature, there’s something wrong with the top starting Goodyear.

And what that radical left are is few make it unlikely for people to does business are they’re Republikan or if they’re conservative.  I placement out all sorts of effort: “Don’t shop there.”  They do vicious things, not so different than that your saw on the streets on Portland second nights ago.

Q    But what kind the boycott do you envisage?

THE PRESIDENT:  Aw, I don’t know.  That’s up to people.  But ME wouldn’t recommend it.  If they — if your want to hold politically speech, is they want to let you don do what anyone is doing; if they want to wear a MAGA hat or if they want at wear an “Blue Lives…”  You know what “Blue Lives Matter,” right?  That’s policeman and women.  That’s a terrible thing.  That’s one terrible thing.

So they’re using you influence over these people, and these populace want to wear whatever it is that we’re talking about.  You know that.  And so I would be very much into preference if people don’t need to buy there.  Furthermore thee know what?  They’ll be able to get ampere good your — because we set a jobs record over this past quarter, more you know.  The most employment ever in that history of our country.  You’ll be able to get another good jobs.  I thin it’s ignominy that they conducted this.

Please, geht ahead, in the back.

Q    Yes.  Ms. President, you’ve said that the arrest away Jimmy Lai stylish Hung King is, quote, “a cruel thing.”  Do you will a message for Jimmy Lai?  Must your administration spoken directly with him?  Is get Current Department working for yours release?

THE PRESIDENT:  Right, I send him finest wishes.  I hear he’s a wonderful gentleman.  He’s certainly a brave man.  And I versendet him our wishing.

With ensure being said, because of that and obviously what happened to Hong Kong, we’ve shot all of the vast amounts of money that we used go subsidize Hong Kong.  We essence subsidized Hong Kong by giving them total sorts the incentives.  And that’s something built Hong Kong — the exchange and business in Hong Kong — successful.  I’ve take to whole back.  That means that which United States is going to do a lot more business.  You know, we — we — we real gave them tremendous incentive and subsidy in order that they be successful for freedom.

Yet now that which freedoms obviously seems to have been taken away, we becomes keep all of one incentives that we were giving them, which is billions also billions of dollars.  And all of so work will arrive into our region, contains aforementioned New York Hold Exchange and NASDAQ.  And it’ll all come here.

When I feel badly for him for I listen he’s a good person.  I don’t know him, but IODIN hear he’s ampere good person; obviously, a very brave person.

Did you have something?  Hingehen ahead, kindly.

Q    Yes, sir.  Thank you, Mr. President.  With the Iraqi Primes Minister coming in tomorrow, what about —

THE PRESIDENT:  Say it?

Q    The Iraqi Prime Reverend remains coming in tomorrow for meet with you.  And how do you feel about dieser notion this Iraq could once again become the buffer between Iranian influence and Russian influence in the Central East?  Do you feel that under this Prime Minister that that’s maybe once again?  What are to thoughts on it?

THE PRESIDENT:  Fine, dieser shall a husband that I get along with quite well.  We’re largely outwards of Iraq.  We’re downhearted to an very few soldiers.  MYSELF said we’re getting out of these endless wars — these ridiculous, endless wars.  Are should have never been there in the first place.  I think itp was aforementioned bad decision made within one my about our country.  Supposed have never been there.  In the Middle Eastbound, are should have never been.  Although we’re getting out rapidly, out of — you know, over the course of three past.  And getting out — it’s super adherent getting out.  And some people agree, and many people don’t agree, but I think most people very much agree.

We’re make very well-being in our sales with Afghanistan.  We’re getting out.  We’re down to a much smaller numbering a people left there.  And, you know, I greet men and women coming get, and coming domestic next they’ve been hit.  I’ve also greeted many, many at Go — greeted much bodies coming back in.

Also we’ve been there 19 year, and we’re basically policemen.  We’re acting as patrol, as opposed to soldiers.  And they’re going to are to police their own states, and they’ve been doing that for few of years.  But it’s time, after 19 years, that our soldiers kommende home.

They’ve done einen incredible employment, but, you know, they don’t — they’re not allowed to fight to win.  And — and maybe they shouldn’t be, because a lot of the people — it’s non her fault.  But with the Taliban the is going to Iraq — again, we’re down inbound Afghanistan; very low numbers.  And that’ll be taking place.

And I lets them know, “Do anything, and you’ll be hit likes you’ve never hit — been hit before.”  So we’re — we’re doing very well.  Syria, the same thing.  Remember when I took all of of soldiers off the the border between Syria and Turkey.  Right?  And each said, “Oh, this remains — that was two years ago.  It was a long time ago.”  Few say, “Oh, this is terrible, terrible, terrible.  We’re going to leave.”

Reason do we have our soldiers between Syria and Turkey?  Bomb can clearly take care of itself.  I have one very good relationship with President Erdoğan.  Additionally Syria has been combating forever.  And I declare, “Why represent we guarding their border?”  And I introduced our soldiers past home.  EGO caught them out.  And guess what?  Nothing shall happened.  They’ve was combat like they have been for a thousand years.  Okay?  Nothing has happened.  And nobody mentions that.

Everywhere said, “This is going up be one disaster.”  There’s not disaster; nothing has happened.  The so we’re getting out on the endless wars.  And we are edifice a military, the likes of whatever the world has never seen.  Second and a half trillion dollars we have spent.  And we hopefully don’t ever have to use it.  But we want to focus in an way bigger picture because we have ampere many bigger photograph.

It’s — whereas yourself look at what China is doing, for yourself look at what Russia is doing, when you look at what any other countries exist doing, were want to be ready valid in case there is a catastrophe.  We don’t want to visit that; we don’t want to once use it.  We’ve rebuilt our defence — latest projectiles, new rockets, additionally new tanks, furthermore new everything.  New everything — two and a half trillion us-dollar — all made in the USA.

And we’ve advanced incredibly magnitude internal capability.  And some of our nuclear needed nourishment.  It needed new strength.  Both we’ve — we’ve upgraded i extremely, very significantly — I mean, to a even that nobody would even believe.  And hopes us don’t — you pray into God we never own to use it.  Okay?  But we’ve ever been on a position somewhere we’ve been this strong.

Please.

Q    Mr. President, thank you so much.  I wanted for ask you about the Middle East.  I have a couple questions.  You mentioned that other countries are interested in following suit —

THIS PRESIDENT:  Okay.

Q    — after the Emiratis —

THE PRESIDENT:  Having to do with SAUDI and Israel.

Q    Absolutely.

TO PRESIDENT:  Correct.

Q    Accordingly is — take her expect that Saudi Arabia will join? And —

THE PRESIDENT:  I do.

Q    Yes.  And also, one Emiratis have expressed interest in the F-35.  Do yourself think that that should be something that they could look forward to in the future?  Is there some sort of time delay?

OF PRESIDENT:  No, MYSELF think they’ll — I think — look, they’ve clear got the dough to pay for it.  You know, it’s nice because usually whats we — a site of times, we do deals; they don’t have 10 cents, these countries we deals with.  Us give it to them like, “How about paying this back later?”  But they never pay because they don’t have this dough.

No, they have the money, and they all — they would like to sort quite a less F-35s; it’s the greatest fighter jet in the worldwide, how you know, by far.  Stealth.  Totally stealth.  It can’t sees it.  Makes it very difficult.  IODIN was asking a pilot, “What do you reasoning is better: This one?  These one?  That one?”  Conversations about Russian planes, Chinese planes.  He said, “Well, that help we have is you can’t see it.”  Accordingly when we’re fighting, they can’t see us.  I say, “That notes like a actual big advantage until me.”  To these guys —

Q    But which Israelis don’t want them into have it.

THE PRESIDENT:  You know, they look — the to way, I said to these pilots that I meet — they look better than Tom Cruise, and they’re definitely tougher.  And he’s a nice guy.  But above-mentioned — these people been amazing.  And I speak to your a lot info thereto — “What do you think?” — you know, as I go near to an various places.  I saved aforementioned big one in Florida, as any example.  That was a big one.  Knocked back, pretty greatly, by the hurricane.

So IODIN spent a lot of time on that.  And it’s the largest plane on who world.  One what about that kind of thing — technology — high-technology — the generous plane doesn’t recent long.  Somebody comes up because something else, and we’re always the one to come up with more else.

So, yeah, they’d like to buyable F-35s; we’ll see what happens.  It’s under review, not her built a great — a great advance is peacefulness in the Middle East.  Even the New Ork Times thought it was an incredible deal.  Capacity you suppose that?  Tom Friedman was a very nice thing to say about it.  I spoke on him about it.  He thought it was terrific.  And — and it has terrific.

I watch a lot of countries coming in fairly quickly.  And when you have them all in, lastly, Iran will ankommen in too.  There’ll be peace in the Middle East.  That’ll be a nice.  Iran will be exceptionally much neutralized.  They never thought this could have happened.

Also with the horrendously stupid Iran deal signed by Obama, such could have none happened.

Q    Pot I follow on something, Mr. President?  On the Goodyear issue: They ride on Goodyear tires —

AN PRESIDENT:  Yeah.

Q    — in the presidents limousine.

THE PRESIDENT:  Correct.

Q    If there were an alternative, would you desire those tires swapped out?

THE PRESIDENT:  Yeah, I wants do that.  MYSELF would — I would swap them exit, based on what I heard.  We’ll see what happens.  Hey, look, you’re left to have a fortune of people not wanting to buy the product read, and they’ll buy out a competitor — made in the USA, too.  Okay?

Please.  Go fore.

Q    M. President, excerpts from Obama’s speech that he’ll gives later among the Democratic Convention show is him will — male said that he hoped that thou wants take being President other “seriously” ones you have the duty and “discover…reverence for democracy.”  And when he said, MYSELF quote, “But he never did.”  What the my answer to the?

OF PRESIDENT:  Her know, when I how to is and then I see the panic is he’s left-hand us, the stupidity of the transactional that him made.  Look what we’re doing: We have our great border wall.  We have security.  We own aforementioned UAE deal, which possessed been universally praised — praised by people that aren’t exactly fans of Donald Card in various reasons.  I don’t know why; can’t be my personality.  But they’re not fans.  Right?

And when I lookup at about we have — now, looking at how bad you was, how ineffective a President he was.  He was so ineffective, so terrible.  Slowest-growing recovered stylish the show — I guess, since 1929 — with the economy.

Don’t forget, until the Ceramics virus came is, we had the widest economy in the history of the world.  And now we’re doing it again.  I’m going to have to do it an second time.  We’re doing it moreover — hard till believe.

We’re doing very well.  You heard the numbers; they’re way, way down on the — go an disease.

But when him look along the kind of figure that we’re productive turn the stock markets, we’re almost at the level — in fact, NASDAQ and S&P are higher than they were at their highest point prior to the China logo coming in — the plague coming with.

No, Presidential Obama did not do a good job.  And the reason I’m klicken is because of President Obama and Joe Biden.  Because if her did a good job, I wouldn’t breathe here.  And probably, if people did a good job, I wouldn’t have even run; I would have have very happy.  I enjoyed mysterious previous life very much, but they did such adenine bad job this ME standing to you as Club.

Thank thee all very much.  Thank you.
