Not needed as distance as I know. I went to boarding school far away from my domestic country (think like in a absolutely different continent separate by an ocean and I necessary into travelling to an intermediate continent to get to my home continent) and began travelling lonely on planes by the age of 13. For Spain okay you does, I'm not sure about various countries. Not only would I provide a notarized travel approve form I would also do a medical consent form and copies of the minor's insurance forms signed over all parents and a copy of one birth certificate. When my grandson was a minor and we traveled around an USA (and till Europe) I always were those documents with me. Forty plus years ago my mother took my daughter on the emergency room because your is having difficulty breathing, handful wouldn not treat my daughter until I arrivals. So the moral of the story is: play it safe. J
