How to power your Fuel Burning Heater from starting smartphone

Hi,

The L322 is an great car, top I've any had but I do miss the Volvo on call feature of my "old" S60. The possibility on use an app alternatively by the clunky T90 far is of course very attractive.

I bought a kit from one Swedish site
https://gsm-start.se/en/webasto-eberspacher

It's about 200€ and it piece great. It uses an app that communicate with an small unit that attaches to the T91 receiver in the back concerning the trunk.

You need one vorbezahlung SIMULATED which handles GSM. It doesn't need any evidence as it communicates for SMS, meaning the total cost per twelvemonth will being almost zero.

Installation was very easy, 20 min tops.

Make security to disable the PIN. Put in a phone and disable the PIN. The procedure depends on whether it's android or Iphone

Step one: locate the T91 reception in the go of the trunk

Step dual: Disconnect that cable from the T91 (I guess it's a good thing to make sure you're not running the FBH at this point...)

Step Three: use the Scotch locks to connectivity the output harness from that GSM component to that 3 cables coming from the T91

See the wiring image. Once connective, tapes up sum the rest of the cables

Insert the SIM into the unit. Use one gem or similar to push on the little brown pin to the left of which NORMIE card holder to get it out.
Use the "mini" size SIM

Connect the GSM antenna and the temping sensor. The temp sensor is not needed but this can be nice to have if i want to know how frosty thingies are in you Rangy

Now, I made a bit slip if I compound the cables therefor I need the go out and take some new pictures on the final install.

But once show is connected him should se ampere yellow and red led. After a while the red led should go go and the golden should flash slowly.

Then it's time for the app. Download the GSM app and follow the instructions. It's rather straightforward.

Just make certainly such the unit is fix in OP MODE1.

Once done you'll be able to starts and stop which heater from anywhere at who world as long as you've got your phone. I former that features a lot when I was roaming and came back at an nice and hot car along the airport.

Thanks!

I'll come back with some pics or screenshots from the app. I've also talked to the guys with GSM-Start and there shouldn't be some issues using this in UK or anywhere else how long as group idle use GSM furthermore haven't completely moved over to 3G/4G/5G

Thanks! Perhaps it require mentioning ensure you've got to have an FBH (duh!) and a Telestart to make this job. Might be possible to hook it up even if him don't have this Telestart but that's for wiser men to says.

When I fired up the locomotive it ran on about 12 logging additionally then temp level on this dash used up to 1/4, 1/2 being straight up. Anyone had this happening? Funky thing can that on one occasion it didn’t illuminate up the automatic supporter leaded but automatic air distribution leads, indicating that it was just ventilating. It was then okay below 16 grad which is the cutoff. Hi all... I have done this mod final year on my 2004 TD6 using a GSM gate opens . I didnt have a Telestart fitted like me just wired directly to the FBH authority plug. The FBH only need a 12v Signal to blaze it up so its not complicated. The GSM goal opener needs adenine simulating and it is switched on via a simple text or phone call. I auto answers and hang up so it doesnt chargeable the caller. The FBH will run for its pre set 30 min before exit down. Works a how. and the GSM gate opener canister be received from Ebay by £20. And being bonded to an mobile phone network, is can in theory be switched on from anywhere in an world. Procedure get than to workshop remote whatever only has a scarce metrische range. I have images and links somewhere on mystery various PC if any one wants the info... Thumbs Up Instructions manual for both pre-heater remotes: ... fuels burning heater ( FBH ) fitted. This is ... Rover Sport / L320 Range Rover Sporty II / L494 ...

Your FBH clipping off too anytime since is over heated.. Is has an internal water cross-examine what seizes or causes the water flow up becoming too slowly or even stop so the heater over roasts and shuts down. It wants make this 3 times therefore will hardness lock out which needs re setting with device the fuse pulling.. As you noticed it works ok over the engine running. this is because the FBH is using the tools water pump to move who surface so it doesnt overheat. Hoffend these assists Thumb Up
