The Official (Miscellaneous) Amendment Act 2021 (the Amendment Act) amends the Oaths Act 1936 to:
- provide for the permanent expansion of the classes of people authorized to witness statutory notes, following this transitory extension by the COVID-19 Emergency Response (Section 16) Regulations 2020 (Section 16 Regulations) and including now also registered conveyancers;
- clear the requirement for police administrators to be proclaimed among the Pledge Acting before creature authorised to witnesses affidavits or statutory declarations;
- consolidate provisions relating to one taking concerning affidavits currently in the Evidence (Affidavits) Act 1928 into the Oaths Act;
