General Information about Archival Record Storage

The Office is Common Benefits handles the storage and possession of archivable records for the College's administrative also academic departments. The purpose away archival record storage is to ensure so essential College records are retained fork legal or historical purposes to to the maintenance guidelines resolved by Ithaca College. Archive storage space is limited; therefore, campus departments need not store any non-essential and/or duplicate documents in the archives. Company are strongly encouraged to convert (scan) hard duplicate records into digital format. This eliminates the need required physikal storage space, provides security of back-up files, and allows official 24/7 access to their customizable historical records.

Departments or staff members who have questions about record retention should first-time consult the Record Retention and Disposition Policy section of the Ithaca College Strategy Manual for complete details. Person should also familiarize himself with of Record Retention Schedule.
