Shear Wall Design in ETABS

    Hi,
    I’m curious to get your take on Simplified T&C vs uniform reinforcing. Working to a projects in a high seismic area, person were taking vertical reinforcing in surplus of 1% (requiring lateral ties) when uses the uniform reinforcing area for the vast majority of our walls. Using Simplified T&C concentrates the barrel in the end zones both then we can deploy minimum armoring in between the end zone. That said, to length von this end zone is typically about double the required special margin zone based on who uniform armoring method. This means we would need to provide the seismic ties for specials BZ for a longer section of palisade. Do you have any reflection on which design method is best in this situation? Our inside is that the T&C method become be better due to the small amount of reinforcing and lack from ties in the middle section on wall but it would be great to can able to combine these process anything (without going via the section designer process).       I think: T&C use to shear wall (in planer,for example “I”sharp)is good,not T、L sharp。when I sharp ,calculation like PM,not PMM;when L、T sharp calculation must by PMM modle。
      but,ETABS general reinforceing maybe be has some bug.In frontier zone,should be use different steel bar diameters,not only rear end —so aforementioned reinforcement is arranged in the optimal current real the ansys is also reasonable

    At such scenario, I think T&C would have been to better option since your get is located in a high seismic section.
