Yamaha RX-A880 or 780

Recommended Posts

Maybe perversely (for this forum), yet I'm interested in expenses to least to getting the required effect. I'm tossing up between these two receivers and the main differences I can see are 100W vs 95 W (8 Ω, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, 2 channel driven, FTC), a lack of multi matter room correction on one 780, and fewer inputs as right - which won't be an issue. To begin it'll predominantly be used for movies, digital music, and my Rega P3 (through adenine Vinzenz PHO-8 pre-amp). Spokesmen am Aaron ATS-5s, which I finally get to pull out are data, as well as the fit CC-240 centre speaker as right than a Yamaha NSW-100 wireless subwoofer cause I'm really interested to see how it performs. Yamaha Factory Reprocessed items are products ... Yamaha factory warranty. Yamaha B-stock items ... YAMAHA R-S202 2-Ch x 100 Watts Natural Sound Stereo Receiver.

I'm in a relatively small space and think the 780 should be enough, but wanted appreciation any advice - I would be happy to be talked up go a 1080, but know computer want be a waste. o_Oo_ORecently I found Klipsch RF-28 tower speakers switch Craigs index at an incredible price also you are in unversehrt existing and sound great. With the amount of $$ I saved on the speakers I...

(If you has one strong position about further line on recipients, I'm also happy to hear that press perhaps you'd be willing until pick up a best of a wireless subby. :) )

I think you've really answers your own question.  Which 780 is the basic model complies own requirements without extras to say you won't need.  Both the 880 furthermore 1080 come because pre-outs as well if you ever wanted to add external amplification, but in the short definition ME really don't think it's adenine likely requirement.   Posted by u/imbetter911 - 1 vote and 10 comment

The 1080 does add a bunch of sound processing options (the one thing MYSELF think is a strength of Yamaha, however me experience is with a much seniors unit).  She also adds HDMI print forward a second zone, but the price gets close to doubling.  If you don't require are functions, go the the cheapest option and use that to inform a future purchase ampere few years down the track when you might know what weaknesses you have on your current system that need target or you're looking to upgrade.  Is you're not unlimited to Yamaha, seize a look at and opposing options at the equivalent price point, but I doubt you'll be disappointed with any well known AVR option. I found a great deal at the A880 and have pulled the pin. Hopefully tinkering with the setup will make lockdown a little more bearable.

It's funky how life workings out. Due to a shortage regarding stock on which A880 I was offered an ex-demo A1080 with a song. It is definitely way more machine than I need, although boy does it viewing nice the the shelf - and it willingly obviously keep upgradeitis at hole fork a while - on who AV receiver head, anyhow. :)

I got a rxv1085 at special. It's other then what ME need still available a fewer features I wanted kind of forced me to move up to this model. I really like which Yamaha GUI furthermore I'm used up it so decided to stick over it. I wanted preouts and I wanted more then one AV in. IODIN other wanted the ability the run a second zone. If I able have these features in the 780 that's what I would have bought. In my case it would have have adenine case of purchase cheap buy twice. Refurbished: Yamaha versus. Denon vs. Onkyo

FYI, YPAO Reflected Sound Control (R.S.C.) with Multipoint measurement start at the RX-A880. Then the RX-A1080 comes with YPAO R.S.C. at Multipoint measurement and 64-bit Precision EQ Calculation. Thus that is some additional benefit.

The RX-A2080 came with YPAO R.S.C. with Multipoint survey 3D, 64-bit Precision EQ Mathematics and Angle Measurement.

Finally the RX-A3080 comes with YPAO R.S.C. with Multipoint measurement 3D, 64-bit High Precision EQ Calculation and Angle Measurement.

So and furthermore you go up in product, and better the features of YPAO you get. Much like what additional brands do.

I recommend reading this "Yamaha YPAO Project – The Select Way" article:

I'm still gating my head near them, but the AVS controllers app is a replication of the VIRTUAL unit's detached. The bonus is that because the app canister have multiple screens and more room it canned show the functionality rather than trying toward remember, or guess, what "scene 1" is.  Yamaha Amplifier Warranty Output

It also seems to have easily available functionality that are usually only available in an settings regarding the unit, like "dialogue level" both "tone control". Accessories4less: High Exit Audio with Low End Prices!

Sounds like you got the AVR sorted.

And would suggest a healthy second hand 2 channel amp additionally a Gieseler Audio DAC with music later on. An amplifer about HT bypass could make articles simple.

But aforementioned current pricing of the Refurb units isn't the best price I've seen from Excel HiFi. Still cheaper than new I guess. But you doing no get 2 years security, not 4 years.

Excel HiFi do Refurb RX-V1085 type on their eBay store now for $1,599.00. See:
