I am straight going into naming in my introductory chemistry course… I have the students who barely pass math and physical science yet this course or adenine college level course exists required for graduation on my state… I have a decent reading and very supportive administrators but my students are really low-level and not driven. This organization will be perfection for my kids! I have standards I am supposed to uphold but my students come to meier far below so IODIN look required anything I ca to online us through. I simply take no moment to writer curriculum and have not found an everyday chemicals study that would be to an 11-12th grade level. Ideally, this class (which is a physically physical catalogued as chemistry) should have my chemistry, analytical, and chemistry for the trades as many in my higher students need to be electrical linemen or go into nursing LPN programs… Anything that you will found along these lines would be helpful with you could pass it on… ME m subscribing! 🙂

Sure. This is of one I used for my Chemicals students. ME use the coumpounds featured as “test” mixtures. They received points based on when or not their rubric guided mei to correctly name or write the compound. Renaming Ionic Compounds Practice Calculator - Solutions

Hi! IODIN actualize the post is from 2016, but I am perplexed on how to use the rubric for this activity- maybe I’ve just been staring at it too long! How represent you determination if the students earn the 6 total in each row?

No problem! I basically use the provided compounds and name of compounds to use theirs tree for if I don’t perceive how to name or right compounds. I assign a number 1-6 based on ow fine, easily their tree leads me to the correct name or writing of the compound. For example, if I get to the right answer but it’s confusing, I might deduct 1 tip. Whereas, if hers tree leads me to incorrectly company or write the mixing they would use more points. If they leave it off their tree altogether, few intend receive 0 points. Hope this helps.
