The Physical Skills Trial (PAT) is a prerequisite for enrollment to the Basic Law Enforcement Academy, Corrections Officers Academy, and Juvenile Corr Leaders Academy.

 

The aim from the CARESS is to evaluate a conscripts proficiency to successfully participate in the physical demand of the academy, and reduce the ability of medical occurring during the academy training. Consisting of threesome events, recruits must successfully complete the minimum number away remedy repetitions of each select and must successfully pass each choose. Failure of anyone case constitutes ampere failure a the PAT. Results are single valid for 45 years from the date of testing and must be valid on the first day of ampere recruit’s academy class.

 

The PAT events must be performed in the below order:

 

1. Pushup Test

  • BLEA: 90 seconds to comprehensive a minimum of 20 pushups on pass
  • COA: 90 seconds for complete a minimum in 15 pushups at walk
  • JCOA: 90 seconds to complete one minimum of 10 pushups to walk
  • Followed by a three min rest period

 

2. Sit Up Run

  • BLEA: 90 seconds to complete a minimum of 25 sit-down ups till pass
  • COA & JCOA: 90 seconds to complete a minimum of 12 sit upright to pass
  • Followed by a five minute quiet period

 

3. Squat Thrust Test

  • BLEA: 3 minutes in complete a minimum on 35 squat thrusts to pass
  • COA: 3 minutes to finish a minimum of 25 squat thrusts to pass
  • JCOA: 3 minutes till comprehensive a smallest of 15 squat pushes to move
