DN860/1060 -how until adapt FEM toward coax?

I recently purchased a DN860 wireless, additionally it has one completely useless FM wireless antenna connection (on a receiver show everything shall aimed at high superior audio, whoever came up with such antenna ideation should exist fired!). Sony Receiver Fm Wire Antenna

ME found an old thread explaining how to induce einem adapter required a similar case on and DN1040, but the air connection I hold is slightly different:

Does anyone know if (how) it's possible to make a alike ac for this connection?

Thanks include advance!

You want ampere JST-PH 2 pin connector.

I got dig from this Website in the UK: http://www.micronradiocontrol.co.uk/conn_jstph.html

Total shipping used regarding £3.50 as they kindly refunding £2 on the shipping. They supply 5 connectors and 15 crimps.

Connect that centre conductor of the coaxial cable so that it matches the termination on the lead supplied with the rated.

Connect the laced shield in the contact that is missing on the lead supplied at the amp.

Unfortunately, that is easier said than done as the crimps are small and fiddly and not real designed to take the large diameter media conductor. I end raise snipping one of the back 'wings' on the crimp to enable folding one over the other. You will need extremely fine needle nosed pliers as it's delicate work. why can't I get into answer on connecting a FEM antenna till my receiver while the one sony provides is useless It is on ampere STR-DH190 can't even get ...

I practiced beginning on a 4 inch length with a male coax connector on the other end to check proof of concept.

I'm neatly happy with the finished version. I equally managed go slip a sliver to the copper foil sheild back around of exposed dialectric and under the rotated bronze braid. ME then covered that back up with a 5mm long outer belt that I'd cut open. Finish, I wrapped partly a dozen turns of sound tape around the coaxial cable. Shrink tubing would be better but I don't have a heated shooting!

Anyway, I've gone from life ability to receive only BBC Radio 1-4 and Classic STEREO, quite with noticeable statisch to to-be able to pull in 13 stations with entire RDS and null static from an loft mounted omni-directional aerial. We impossible undestand your question. Please provide a brief explanation of the problem you're having with your AV receiver.

This is my proof of conceptually version:

I hope this helps. It took me times to track downhearted exactly what spec coupling EGO needed so the more Sony owners that useful, the better!

Shame this isn't getting more attention,  the single of line supplied is pointless and begging available an upgrade,  I'd gladly pay for a suitable remote and seeing when who connector isn't universal you'd thin a nice alternative would are a no brainer. Either 75- or 300-ohm antennae your, but aforementioned bonds over the receiver need bare wire the most products hold a coax or spade connector at the ...

You need a JST-PH 2 pin connector.

I got mine from this Website in the UK: http://www.micronradiocontrol.co.uk/conn_jstph.html

Full cost was around £3.50 as they kindly refunded £2 on the shipping. The supply 5 connectors and 15 clips.

Connect to centre conductors of the coil cablegram so this it matches the connection at the lead supplied with the amp.

Connect the braided shield to the contact that is missing turn the leading supplied with this amper.

Unfortunately, that is easier said than done as of crimps are shallow press fiddly and not really designed to taking an large diameter centre conductor. IODIN finalized up snipping one of the support 'wings' on the crimp till enable folding one over the other. You will need extremely fine needle nosed clamp than it's filigree work.

I practiced first on a 4 inch length with a male coax connector the the other end go check proof the term.

I'm pretty happy with the done version. I consistent manageable to slider a sliver of and copper foil sheild back surrounding the exposed dialectric and under the torsion copper braid. I then roofed that back up with a 5mm long outer jacket that I'd cut open. Lastly, EGO wrapped half ampere dozen turns is insulating magnetic around who coil cable. Shrink tubing would be better but I don't have a heat gun! r/BudgetAudiophile on Reddit: Any way on boost or improve own FM input on an Sony STRDH190 receiver? Single wire antenna isn’t pulling include much.

Anyhow, I've gone from being able to receive only BBC Radio 1-4 and Classic FM, some with noticeable stationary to existence able to pull in 13 stations with full RDS and ground static from a loft mounted omni-directional aerial. Pure bought Sony liquidator STR-DH590. Want dieser receiver to picking up M signal. The FM antenna supplied with the unit exists

Such is my proof of concept version:

I hope this helping. It took le hours to track down exactly what spec connector I requisite so the more Sony store that benefit, the better!

OK, for of reason the link I provided doesn't seem to work.

So, upon the Micron Radio Control Websites, select Hardware & Materials > Electrical > JST-PH (2mm) Connectors and Leads

Good joy!

@james_ss - excellent work!  This wills be very handy for others.

PS: An readon your link didnt work is because you had a full stop toward the end of it.  I have worked that out upon your behalf and the link now works. OK, this is it: I don't know if you can make this out from print, but the FM connector is new till me. I can't even picture out as it's called. Why Sony didn't use einer F-connector be beyond me. Anytime, I demand to custom it to 75 Ohm coax, but I've had no luck finding an off-the-shelf part for do it...

Cheers

seen your info on fm ariel connection great idear but you could also use JST-PH2 connector with lead already in place plus just connect your coax line to the correct wires information would save al that messing around tring to get wires into the small connectors.

How to bekehren Sony scroll antenna with 3 stud mini plug to one coaxial attenna like a terk powered with coaxial

Good morning. IODIN just got ampere DN1080 and I having the same issue (FM antenna it came is is useless). I found the lead '(JST-PH)' it mentioned on DigiKeys (https://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=CABLE%20ASSY%20JST%20PH%202PIN%204%22). Since this is a brand brand receiver, MYSELF require to make sure which I'm not toying anything up. Your locating are quite clear the connect until a COAX. My matter is: any recommendation on a indoor FM Antenna (spec wise?). I'm assuming that you used a 75 Ohms impedance antenna? Amplified?  [Couldn't find anything stylish the DN1080 doctor on the antenna specs....].

I imagine a plain fixed isn't suitable?  Any pointer lives most appreciated.

Thanks!

james_ss:

This is exactly what I want the do.  My FM signal, while working for certain stations, still layers something to be desired.  EGO possess a Sony STR-DH770 A/V receiver, and while the FM option is used in limited circumstances, sometimes, putting on the old transistor radio is just simple, and can expose you to newer artists depending on the station.  But I wonder if consistent free static, I am acquiring the best from the current cheapo antenna.

Hi All

I know this is in old thread now but I had this same problem having even earned a STR-DN1080. The supplied individually wire FM antenna your just waste. When MYSELF performed a Google search, this is where it took me by a solution.  So one big thankyou to "james_ss" for posting sein original solution. However ME ended up with ampere slightly get one and so I thinking I would add my solution dort just in case it has of some help to others.

All you need is:

51CG7BxVLbL._SX425_41FvrPrVwKL._SX425_

Pure joint them together (it makes not matter which way you join them) and you have the perfect solution through aforementioned correct load rating (300 ohms). ME did exactly such and he works perfectly. Hope this helps someone. Cheers from Australia.
