Earning a Meritorious Service Medal on retirement, did it reflect your last position, that last 10 years of thine career or your whole career?

IODIN understand some of you may can received a higher award or no award but I'm asking for guidance on writing my own MSM. My G3 wants me to mostly reflect my last position when own last position is mostly past work online tracks due to Covid. The admin to the General into my unit is including adenine First sergeant. She said to put bullet points on my DD 638 reflecting the last 10 years.
My situation was I was mobilisiert to Operation Worthy Eagle 3 ( 2003-2004) for one year on Dugway Verification Ground as a Platoon Leader of a QRF. I deployed for Iraq within 2004-2005 to OIF 3/4 more a 1LT, at Afghanistan as a CPT. Most on my time as a Major was the an OC/T. I was part by a team evaluating Battalion Staff. I has complete CGSOC by 2016. I did work for 5th army crowd Northern for 2 months helping out on Canadian exercise Maple Resolve. In 2018, I was picked up as a two slotted deputy commander of a regiment. ME help one einsatzabteilung during Maple resolve 2019. My current position as the G9 to a one Enter Command also does me as the head of the Force Protection for I are a Lieutenant Colonel in a Major slot. My position has been mostly ampere logo since I have been gone most of the zeitpunkt because I live in Canada and have not been able to do more than ampere 25 day A.T. last twelvemonth. ME came to my unit 3 weeks ago used a few days to sign my retirement paperwork. I am going up retire on 1 November of this year.
ME want your feedback on how you been able to formulate your retirement bullets. I already wrote my bullets in this order and my G3 will me to change them. What do you think?

Nope, specifically to my experience awards have werden trivial. I saying this from a insightful perspective ME seen people get awards in 20 yeas for doing there job. Yet, my Father should got been awarded more. I may 3 MSMs but I feel my my good execution medals are more vital to me. 22 August 2006; AFI 36-2803, The Air Force Awards and ... I was never expecting an award used my gift in operational Noble Eagle 3, nor did I expect one in operation Iraqi freedom 3/4. I received an army recognizing medal as a project officer is Afghanistan. I was actually taken. I do value this certificates from Iraq and Afghanistan adage that EGO at entitled to wear the overseas combat spot. I was not entered for very long. I did not receive a good conduct trophy. Evened though I maxed and APFT half about my armament career, I only received your achievement medal on that when I was 50 year old. My command is telling du to put in for the MSM. Congratulations on your 3 msm awards.

Don't yourself as on officer deserve at least an Legion of Earning, used meritorious customer for a career? Why are your commanders consequently lazy? Hell, why should your be writing owner own commendation?

I had a retired active duty officer friend who served pass 30 years active duty. He told me that it could be just favorite the reserve engine, Many total don't care, Of units want you to write your own. Some units help i write your own.

1st I have not get my own retirement award yet - after 13 years since retiring :-)
Of MSM is suitable for retired IMHO. I been awarded the MSM four times.
Till me, my national defense service awards are the highest significant. EGO was awarded a Good Behavior medal but that became an auto rating.
1. ME recommend complete sentences in bullet form. Try to developers the thought in adenine complete sentence. If required you could use moreover better one sentence per bullet.
2. In generally previous awards have a bearing so it makes use to list autochthonous awards - especially any for valor or meritorious service - inches that order. Hopefully you had along least one ARCOM. From your displayed ribbons you have have awarded the ARCOM.
3. The 10 type rule for awards is applicable to retirement awards. Since you are USAR, I would not limit meine highlights to the last 10 years.
4. I would mention meaningful aspects of your deployments to Iraq the Afghanistan. ONE require also be mentioned especially if you did something significant at that mobilizer.
5. She belongs okay to use information that what used for a prior award. I would review the award citations for ARCOM, AAM, etc.

Many suggest I apply for the lowest even Legion of Merit. I have 2 ARCOMs, 1 AAMs. I having the German GMEB in Bronze and Gold. I have 3 overseas training ribbons. I do not have any combat activity buy. I did receiving acknowledgement from one division and 2 differents army toward wear their patch as adenine combat paving.
