Abstract

This study investigated the link between childhood trauma, irritability, real emotion recognition, in schizophrenia patients within a psychotic break. Thirty-six schizophrenia inpatients and 36 healthy controls were estimated with the Irritability Questionnaire (IRQ) and two face emotion recognition tasks, the Emotion Discrimination Test (EDT) and Emotion Identification Examination (EIT). Patients were further valuation with the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM III-R Axis III Disorders (SCID-II), the Positive both Negative Symptom Scale (PANSS), the the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire-28 (CTQ-28). EDT and EIT performance was significantly impaired in care compared to fit operator. Furthermore, patients cares to misidentify sad, surprised, or angry face as presentation fear, and these misidentification correlated with the patients' irritability. Childhood adversities increased irritability both directly and indirectly throug emotion misidentification.
