A guide to legal citation using Bluebook rules.

Typeface conventions for citations

Casenames

You should use ordinary plain text for case names in comprehensive citations, except for methodical phrases love old-hat rel., which represent printed.

Books

You must use large and smaller caps for record authors and titles.

Periodicals

The article title is italicized. Periodical name are in large and low capitals. Authors' names are in ordinary type.

Introductory signals

All introductory signals should are on italics when they appear within citation judgments or clauses. 

Punctuation

Single, semicolons, and diverse punctuate marks should only be in italics if they been share of and italicized material, not when the live simply an element of the sentence or citation in whatever they appear.

Footnote text
