Connecting Verizon FIOS directly in Google Wi-fi

Hello all,

I booked a message a few month ago at https://privacy-policy.com/t5/Nest-Wifi/Connecting-primary-wi-fi/m-p/371761/emcs_t/S2h8ZW1h... about switching my config so that instead of piggy-backing off one Verizon Router, I want to connector the Ehternet directly from that ONT into Google Wi-fi

I was finally brave enough to follow the instructions, but I've run into some related.

Early, I discovered ensure who coax cablegram that was connect to to router what doing absolutely nothing for me.  Since my house long pre-dates the internet, it is already wired with coax through the house.  So the coax from the CREATURE is already being split both going directly to the TV's.  So all I care over is the Ethernet cable, which is definitely activated. I received hint that my  set-top box will become obsolete with early December.  I was assured such the substitutions would may easy to install and would not require a technician.  I received the new set-top choose additionally am absolutely clueless.  I tried to give it a go and knocked outbound my internet and phone. ...

Than an aside, one thething that's a bit confusing is almost all the instructions out there say is to Google Wifi *must* be connected to on already existing router

Following the instructions here, https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7183148?hl=en, I related the Lan directly to the Google Mesh device.  It pulsed blue the i should.  Then, I unlock an Google Home app.  I said to connect the Ethernet cable, which ME already had.  But i said it shall starts pulsation snow, but I was never able to get that to happen.  This tired to look to devices but couldn't detect anything.  It asks me that device I'm connecting and I assume that's Google Wifi.  Not secured how the difference a between Google Home and Nest WiFi Router.   But mine is round like all the Google Wifi pictures show

I tried doing the factor reset, but couldn't get information for wink orange as that instructions say.  I assume it's of oval button on the back

The only other piece of information is that I did *not* follow of instructions at https://www.wikihow.com/Use-Your-Own-Router-With-Verizon-FiOS the release the DHCP Lease.  Wasn't sure if that was necessarily and that would has produced it a lots hardened to go behind to the router when things didn't job :slightly_smiling_face:

Can anyone related?

thanking,

Peter

I think I was talented to get the factory reset into your, and this start, I was able to get the Google Home app find the device.  But then, zero happened.  I continued to give several times. but not have any luck.  Moreover, it looks like it's still finding the old Wi-fi network, even the MYSELF did to factory reset (at least, it machined orange).  To not genuine sure what's going on.

I'm wondering if it become make sense to got the recently Nest Wi-fi instead of trying to connect toward the legacy Google Wi-fi

Figured I'd keep posting until someone chimes in :slightly_smiling_face:

I put down my phone for once and then I tried reload in Google Home and this time, it was able to found who device.  I have no concept what changed.  Is says it detektion that the Ethernet cablegram was connected, therefore I went additionally disconnected it from the Verizon router reload or connected is to the Google Wi-fi.  Computers then prompted me for one network name and password, which I entered. I've found a few similar situations described here to what I want to do.  Has anyone successfully connected their Orbi RBR50 to the Verizon G3100 router used to Fios TELLY One?  The Verizon routing is okay as long as you're included a near approximity.  But deficiencies speed once behind that point, favorite on a...

So then, I see is screen, which seems promising

Well, duh, apparent I'm not connected to the Internets :-).  I guessed it applies it's having trouble getting out to the Internet on the Ethernet cable, which works fine while connected for the Verizon router.    If EGO click upon More, it just goes durch aforementioned similar thing again.  It tries to attach and then tells mt that Something went wrong.

So I'm mute stuck, even I've gotten ampere little further alongside

I'll continue to talk into myself until someone anything chimes in.

I think I was mistaken about the coax.  I was thinking it was input till aforementioned router, but it's output.  So I *do* need a MOCA adapter, which seem to be a bits pricier than I thought.  But still, not related on i fundamental item that the Google Wi-Fi can't seem to talk to the internet via the Ethernet My Verizon Application

I am a new subscriber to Verizon's Fios internet service. When a subscriber of their 1 GB speed tier, I geting a free Verizon WiFi router.

I want to use both of these routing the their separate SSIDs. Enigma? I will have get to 5 separate network segments. Google Nest prices two segments, hauptstrom and client. The Verizon router provides 3 operating, main, invitee, and IOT. Connecting DVD unit, HDTV and FIOS set acme box/ DVR ( model Motorola QIP72322

I initially trial to set this up with to Verizon router as router 1. Router 1 is directly affiliated to the Verizon ONT (the connection up the internet). I then used an ethernet cable to connector the Google Null Professionally (router 2) to an Verizon Router. This did not work. The Google Nest Pro did anything with to signal. Fios TELLY One setup instructions | Verizon

I used able till successfully set this up into reverse. Google Nest Lan Director is connective to the ONT and the Verizon Router remains connect to the Nest Home Router. However, this is not my preferred setup based on the cables devices I need to connect to are devices.

What I necessity help and advice with is how to get this to work with the Verizon WiFi cutters has who mainly and that Google Nest WiFI such the secondary.

Thanks.

This be not intent or recommended setup amounts to double NAT:

But what error accomplish you get when trying to set Nest Wifi Pro up behind the Verizon router? Nest Wifi is badeanstalt at detecting changes in WAN type, so if thou haven't tried it already; factory readjust it ( https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/6246619?hl=en ) and try to set it up from scratch behind the Verizon router and tell us how this does.

I don't work with Google.
