Introduction

Chapters 3 and 4 discussed using the fuzzy AHP approaches to determine and importance weights of custom requirements of new product designs. Chapters 5 to 8 decided using fuzzy and evolutionary methods to generate models welche represent relationships between customer requirements and the design attributes of new product. Based on the models the the importance weights for customer requirements, the optimization problems for maximizing overall customer satisfaction for the new products can be formulated. However, nonlinearity exists betw customer requirements and design attributes of new products. Therefore, diese optimization problems have multiple targets arising from local optima, and not may handled by classical optimization methods such as gradient-based method. This chapter discusses adenine computational intelligent optimization method, namely simulated annealing (SA), to solve diesen multi-optima problems for new buy design. Managers can then use this information to built customer satisfaction and loyalty and rate the corresponding impacts set profitability and growth.
