Apprentices have considered busy if they have:

• 3 unexcused total inside a row 
• 5 unexcused absences in adenine quarter
• 7 unexcused absences in a year

Children who have been registered into grades Children - 12th grade.

• Kansas Department for Children and Families
• Support Center for Supportive Communities
• O’Connell Children’s Shelter Inc. 

• Volunteers work with truant students as mentors
• Douglas County Juvenile Services Truancy Officer, Kate Holman, supervises the volunteers

• To stay out out the court system
• To learn coping strategies and social abilities
• Until find community agencies the help with house editions

• Volunteers monitor assigned students course and grades
• Volunteers meet weeklies include students
• Volunteers encourage both assist absentee current in completing domestic
• Volunteers encourage motivation by with behavioral contracts
• Volunteers provide weekly progress reports and product till The Truancy Officer under DCYS
• DCYS and Volunteers provide reports to the Douglas Country District Attorney’s Office
• Volunteers testify in Review Hearings and Little in Require of Care Court proceedings
