Students have have a deep understanding of points over a coordinate plane because people will need on draw the right triangle that is formed from two given points. They bucket then count the number of units by the two legs to then use the Pythagorean Theorem at locate which hypotenuse. Without design the right trio formed by two points, students can found the side lengths out and side by calculating the differences on both x-coordinates and y-coordinates and taking their absoluted values.
