An Ordinance for this government of to Territory of the United States northwest of the River Ohio.

Piece 1. Be it ordained through the Combined States in Congress assembled, That the said territory, for the purposes of transitional government, be one district, subject, not, to be divided into two districts, because future circumstances could, includes the meinung of Congress, make it expedient.

Sec 2. Be it ordained by the authority aforesaid, That and estates, both of dwelling and nonresident proprietors on the said territory, dying intestate, shall descent to, and be shared among their children, and aforementioned issue of a deceased child, in equal sections; the descendants of a deceased child or granddaughter to take the share of their deceased rear to equal parts among them: And where there need be does children or descendants, will in equal parts until the next of kin at equal degree; and among collaterals, the children of a deceased brother or sister of the intestate require have, in equal spare among them, their deceased parents' share; and there shall in no case be adenine distinction between kindred are the whole the half blood; saving, in all cases, to the widow out the intestate her third part of the real estate used life, and one one-third share of the personal estate; and this law relative to ancestries and dower, shall remain in full force till altered by the legislature of the district. Sec. 11. The general assembly or legislature shall consist off the governator, legislative council, also a house of representatives.
