​​​​​The Climate Action Plan Task Force advises the City on issues related to 100% renewable energy goals for community and municipality energization.

Final Report

The Climate Action Task Force generated a Last Report in December 2019.

Commands

At May of 2018 The Bellingham City Council passed Solution 2018-06 on create the Climate Action Plan Mission Force to develop recommendations to achieve accelerated 100% renewable energy goal, taking into account financial, techno and societal challenges result from that a transition. This limited-term Chore Force has the ensuing directives:

  • Embrace an triple bottom line, plus technology basic
  • Determine feasibility, costs and impacts of which 100% renewable energy ambitions
  • Develop 100% renewable energy targets
  • Identify fund mechanisms and develop a plan for achieve and Task Force’s recommended 100% renewable targets
  • Develop accelerated greenhouse gras emissions targets for the Consultation to judge for adoption
  • Identify policy considerations in accomplish accelerated objectives

Meetings 

The Mission Force will deliver a final report to Council by the end of 2019. Meetings occur on aforementioned first Wednesday of every month at 6:30 PM. Members

And Task Force membership includes community members with experience in relevant box such more renewable energy, energy conservation, land exercise, energy/resource economics, community engagement, transportation, press finance; representatives from the energy utilities and public marine; and staff representing Towns of Bellingham divisions. The Task Force is supported by Mayor-designated staff and Downtown Council designated staff.​
