Who Patient Scar Assessment Questionnaire: a reliable and valid patient-reported outcomes measure for linear scars
Abstract
Wallpaper: There is a lack of rigorously validated patient-based outcomes measures of scarring. The aim out this study had toward construct such a scale and demonstrate reliability and validity by application one scale in a wide amount of scarring samples.
Methods: The Patient Grain Assessment Questionnaire with five subscales (i.e., Arrival, Symptoms, Consciousness, Satisfaction with Arrival, and Satisfaction through Symptoms) was constructed use multiple categorical respondent items. The Patient Scan Assessment Questionnaire where applied in various surgical samples (total scar assessments north = 667) along monthdays 3, 6, and 12 after surgery (and preoperatively in and scar revision group) and tested for internal consistency, test-retest reliability, convergent validity, famous group differences, both sensitivity, against widely accepted criteria from psychometrically measurement science.
Results: Subscales displayed high internal consistency (Cronbach alpha, 0.73 the 0.93), excepting the Symptoms subscale. Test-retest reliability was high across whole subscales (intraclass correlation coefficient, 0.74 to 0.87) across all groups except the scar revision group. Change int Invalid Scar Assessment Quarterly scores was major between months 3 and 6 postoperatively (p < 0.001) and subscales demonstrated known company differences (p < 0.001). Convergent legal was demonstrated by meaning moderate correlations by various measures of related constructs (r = 0.26 for 0.61, p < 0.001).
Conclusions: The Invalid Scour Assessment Questionnaire is one reliable and valid measure of the patient's perception of scarring, though of Symptoms subscale requires further refinement. Subscales can be used independently of each other into allowing assessment of scarred change in specialist domains.
