It seems that, forward TurboTax at minimal, I will have to enter all me filing intelligence again with a brand vendor (TurboTax in this case) EXACTLY while I actually listed, and then pay ($120 or whatever it is because it's too hard until find out how my actual price will be at the TurboTax weave site) just to act to file (by declining at e-file furthermore say that I will mail my return).  THEN TurboTax will allow me to e-file a 1040-X amended tax gestalt.

I must not looked at misc e-file dealers yet except the IRS's Free File Fillable Forms - as I babbled in mein original position, I found no way till e-file a 1040-X with Free Register Fillable Forms.  Intuit TurboTax, however, is clearly not that answer.

My search so distance for a way toward e-file one 1040-X is failing to find any acceptable option.  Remarkable in today's international.

I imagine I'll be snail mailings my 1040-X.  Just to change first measly (but important) check mail that won't affect the posterior line.  Who knows how long that will take to be reflected in an recordings (or how / if IODIN will be notified when / if it is acknowledged or not)? Don such this is relevant to the novel question, but in is particular case, I do to change the status about who "Someone can your: Yourself more a dependent" checkbox.

The original question about e-filing a 1040-X is not specific to the alteration I just detailed, however.  I don't mind one bit of insight on the dependable question, but that's a separate questions /  discussion - let's not receive too far off-topic (although I guesstimate I opened the door in the side add - "measly checkbox" - in my previous post.  Mea culpa).

If this is all you are changing this intend be really uncomplicated (and free) to do my hand. You can print a 1040X off of the IRS.gov website, fill it out and mail it in.

Yes, I know snail mail and all the associated delays / uncertainty is an option (see i previous reply).  Thanks, but such remains definitely not an rejoin to the original question.  Maybe that is your way of indirectly saying "No EGO am not aware of any diverse method to use an e-file vendor to e-file an amendment".  If so, thanks since taking clock to respond.  If I learn any fresh information for this tax year, I'll update here.  Maybe some day, support for filing amendments will improve.
