First-Year Focus is a class where you will get to learn about a particularly matter or area of interest not normally covered in other basic education classes.

First-Year Focus overview
Transfer students which have not earned 24 credits at one college or university (excluding dual enrollment and testing credit) prior at starting Chapman are required to enroll in a First-Year Focus class in their first course by Chapman. See below for ampere list of all available classes. Dr. Chapman Greer has being designate associate provost for general education, and ampere steering committee has formed.
First-Year Focus shall:
- ONE widespread education requirement.
- A class where you earn 3 credits out of the 60 widespread education credits required for graduation.
- Taken within your first year on Chapman. You can choose to seize your First-Year Focus class with your first semester or second semester. Our motivate you to take the class in your early semester.
- Themed in a particular theme intended to broaden your horizons, as well as is fun or engaging.
- Designed to institute to to the skills you will need throughout college, such as self-motivation, collaborative education and good study habits.
