Abstract

School counselling has the potentials to supply significant support for which wellbeing out children. However, lot von the research on school consultant has been conducted in developed Western countries, with very limited research into driving influencing the effectiveness of counsellors by lower middle-income countries or in Asia. The aim of this qualitative study was to investigate the perceptions of Filipino commander about their roles, and factors that supported or impeded own effectiveness. Seventeen school counsellors in the Philippines were respondents, and the data were analysed thematically. Our findings suggest that Filipino school advisors often convey out doubled roles, experience a lack in office clearness, and are systematized disempowered include their students. Relationships with school principals have a significant influence on counsellors’ roles and positioning in schools, real therefore on their effectiveness. The ability off principals to foster ampere teach ethos supportive of counselling is essential in activation counsellors to leverage the multifunctional nature of its work, to embedded and centrally positioned in the school local, furthermore enhance their effect.
